Starrlyn, our dental assistant, is the newest member of our team. Starrlyn has been a dental assistant since 2011, after graduating the dental assistant school she attended in Warren county. Starrlyn loves to get to know her patients, and treat them not as "clients" but as friends. Throughout her years of dental assisting, Starrlyn has focused her attention on stellar chair side care, along with knowledgeable skill. She loves to have her patients feel as if they were at home, and to ease any fears they may have of their approaching procedures. "Without patients, there is no practice. Patient care is my number one priority on any given day. I like to get to know my patients, and have them enjoy every minute of their stay. If I'm able to make my patient laugh or smile, I know I'm doing my job right, and it feels great." Starrlyn is incredibly happy to join her new team in Dr. Deschenes' office.
Jennie has been working in Dr. Deschenes office since 2004. She started working as a front desk assistant and eventually started assisting the doctor. As the years went by she became very interested in the dental field. She went to Richard Stockton College of NJ for a year, until she decided that the dental field was her true passion. She attended Middlesex County College and received her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2009.
She has been a Registered Dental Hygienist in Dr. Deschenes office ever since. She enjoys educating her patients on the importance of oral hygiene and takes pleasure in seeing their improvements over time. She also loves working in Dr. Deschenes office because aside from her duties as a dental hygienist she helps take care of managerial issues such as insurance claims, confirmation calls, scheduling appointments and patient recall. Jennie eventually plans on continuing her education while still practicing as a Register Dental Hygienist.
Liz has been a registered dental hygienist for 25 years, 17 of them at Dr. Deschenes’ office. After years of being in different types of dental practices including periodontal and pediatric, She is very happy to be in a general practice, getting some of both specialties along with patients of all ages and families, watching preschool children from long ago head off to college. Working here continues to be an excellent experience.
She loves everything about being a hygienist, especially her patient interaction. The variety of assisting other staff members or clearing up insurance problems, or dealing with lab work on occasion adds different challenges. She encourages teens to consider this excellent profession which she has enjoyed all these years.
Dr. Deschenes has been in practice for over 35 years. He is continually learning and expanding his knowledge of the latest techniques and innovations in dentistry. His practice focuses on preventive dentistry in conjunction with conventional treatments. Dr. Deschenes believes in fostering a strong partnership with his patients, so that they can make informed decisions about their dental care. This team approach makes all of the difference in patients taking responsibility for their own health. He takes great pride in having a relaxed, down-to-earth atmosphere in his office.
